It’s Timon’s time to go to his fur-ever home!Timon was found as a stray and came to EHS from an overcrowded municipal shelter. He was previously owned and we don’t know how he became a stray, but efforts to trace his family of origin were unsuccessful. This beautiful boy can be shy at first, but we hope with the right family and lots of love, he will embrace the hakuna matata life! ABOUT TIMON-At shelter-Timon needs a slow and gentle approach to feel safe around humans. Who can blame him after all he’s been through? -He may sometimes hiss to protect himself, but he’s a gentle boy and there is no follow through. You’ll usually find him observing life from the safety of the top level of his cat tree when he feels overwhelmed. -Timon will accept pets with the back-scratcher when first approached, and by hand around his chin and cheeks when he is comfortable. -Once he gets to know you, he loves to be petted by hand without the warm up from the back-scratcher. He sometimes purrs and recently flipped over to show his belly! He’ll also knead his paws, often making “air biscuits” and will headbutt your hand for more pets. -Shelter volunteers report that Timon is learning to love affection, showing a playful “elevator butt” bow when he wants attention. -He loves food; one of his favourite delivery methods is being given handfuls of his dry Kibble to enjoy. Family-style dining? Though not required, this boy loves company while he eats. -Timon has graduated from the shy cat behaviour program where he worked with dedicated volunteers who have helped him feel comfortable with humans and ready for adoption. -Timon is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV and up to date on core vaccinations. TIMON’S IDEAL HOME-Timon does not like loud noises and would do best in a quiet household without small children.-His forever family will need to be patient with Timon, earning his trust and building his confidence.-Timon would like to live in a home where he is the only cat so that all the attention can be directed his way. Are you ready to duet with Timon and show him that a worry-free life ain’t just a craze? Come by the shelter and meet this sweet boy today! If you have any questions about Timon or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com
