My story

Ben is a big softy with a heart as warm as his golden fur. This Lab/Pit mix is a sweet, affectionate companion who just wants to be near his people. One look into his soulful light brown eyes and you'll be smitten! Though he's a large boy, Ben is truly a gentle soul. He loves his walks, enjoys time in the yard, and is always up for a little training-he already knows "sit" and "paw"! Ben is happiest when he's spending time with his handlers, soaking up attention and giving tail wags in return. We haven't had Ben interact with other dogs here yet, but we know he's done well with another dog in the past. If you have a pup at home, a meet-and-greet at the shelter could be a great step. Ben would thrive in a moderately active home with older children and possibly a canine companion. If you're looking for a loyal buddy who's equal parts snuggle bug and adventure pal, Ben might just be your perfect match. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has received. **Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
