My story

*Currently in Vancouver!!! Meet Gaon! This 8-month-old neutered male mixed-breed pup was born on August 6, 2024, and weighs in at a perfect 8 kg. With his striking black and white coat and gentle personality, Gaon is ready to bring joy to a lucky forever home. Gaon absolutely adores people and turns into a total lovebug once he gets to know you. He may be a little cautious around unfamiliar men at first—sometimes giving a few barks—but he doesn’t stay shy for long. A tasty treat and a bit of patience usually do the trick! He’s especially fond of children and gets excited when young visitors, like his little cousins, come to play. You’ll often find him wagging his tail and happily bouncing around with the kids. He’s comfortable being picked up and will even roll over for belly rubs once he’s bonded with you. When it comes to other dogs, Gaon enjoys playing with pups his size or smaller. He’s wonderfully polite and even shows gentle manners when playing with tinier friends. However, he tends to shy away from bigger or overly energetic dogs—they can be a bit overwhelming for his taste. If another dog gets pushy or aggressive, Gaon is more likely to walk away than get involved. As for cats, Gaon is curious but calm. He may approach to investigate, but he doesn’t bark or chase street cats. While he hasn’t lived with a cat before, his gentle interest suggests potential with a proper introduction. Gaon has a moderate energy level. He loves being outdoors and enjoys his walks, but once he’s had his fun, he settles down quietly. He’s well-practiced on the leash, walks without pulling, and follows his person like a pro. He’s also incredibly well-mannered with food and toys—he shows no resource guarding at all. You can take away his squeaky toy or snack mid-play or mid-meal, and he won’t bat an eye. Speaking of toys, Gaon is a slipper enthusiast! He especially loves soft indoor slippers and squeaky toys shaped like slippers or fruit. Give him one of those, and he’ll be in heaven.Gaon rarely barks, though he might give a little alert bark if a delivery arrives or something startles him outside during the day. He’s calm and quiet in a kennel and is doing great with both pee pad and outdoor potty training. His mother, Pungja, was rescued from a dog meat farm in Yeoncheon while pregnant. Shortly after her rescue, she gave birth to three puppies at a veterinary clinic, and Gaon was one of them. His littermate, Daon, has been adopted in Montreal. Resilient, loving, and full of playful charm, Gaon is a wonderful companion who’s ready to wiggle his way into your heart.
