My story

Frank is a senior Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and a calm, steady presence. He’s the kind of dog who makes a house feel like home. After spending many happy years with his previous family, Frank is now looking for a quiet, loving place to enjoy his golden years. He may be a little reserved at first, but once he feels safe, his true personality shines through. Frank is gentle, well-mannered, and enjoys simply being near his people. He spends most of his day snoozing peacefully and can be left alone for long stretches without issue—as long as tempting snacks are tucked away! He’s kennel trained, food motivated, and eager to please. This sweet boy does well with other dogs when he’s able to greet them freely and has done great in daycare and boarding settings. On leash, he can be reactive if he can’t say hello, but he’s working on his manners. Frank would do best in a home without cats, and while he’s currently living respectfully with a young child he knows, he tends to be anxious around unfamiliar kids. A calm, child-free home or one with older, dog-savvy children would suit him best. Frank is sensitive to change and may need some time to settle into a new environment, especially after big life transitions. He’s had some separation anxiety in the past, but once he’s familiar with his space and routine, he becomes a loyal and low-key companion. He’s also a bit nervous at the vet, so he wears a muzzle there just to be safe.
