My story

Rain came to us in March as a stray, wandering through his town with another dog and a cat. Originally we were hoping to place them all together, but the more we get to know them, spending time in a foster home and the shelter, it has become clear that Rain would rather not live with River. Because these dogs have very different needs, we are looking for River to have a home of her own, and Rain & Reed (the cat), can go to a home together. Rain has really perked up now that he is living pain-free since we removed all his bad teeth. He loves to snuggle, nested into a pile of blankets, but he also absolutely loves to go on walks! He walks nicely on leash, and he enjoys a pretty fast clip, so be prepared to get your exercise keeping up with this guy!During the day he hangs out in the cat colony room with his feline friend, Reed, and they are very happy together. Having Rain`s support has really brought Reed out of his shell, and even when Rain goes back to his kennel for the night, Reed is still rubbing up on anyone who enters his room. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org to schedule a time to talk with an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Rain and Reed.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rain, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
