My story

Meet Lucky, a sweet and spunky 2-year-old neutered male rat terrier mix, weighing about 15lbs.  Lucky is a friendly, loving boy who gets along well with other dogs, people, and kids. He likes cats but he does chase them, so a cat free home (or one with dog savvy cats) would probably be best for him. He would also LOVE a fenced in yard of his own, as he loves to run.  From Lucky: “My name is Lucky, I am a happy and very loving Rat Terrier/Jack Russell mix. I get so happy when I see you I will jump straight up three feet like I want to land in your arms. I am quick on the uptake and I learn quickly.  I love to walk on the leash and will get very excited when you get my leash and harness. I am also as quick as a jack rabbit and enjoy a fenced in yard so I can get my zoomies out! I love to eat and exercise, I am very healthy! I love to go anywhere with you, and if you have another pup, we both would love to ride along.  I do have a few quirks, I am nervous transitioning from one floor type to another, like a wood floor to a tile floor. I also have a little trouble crossing thresholds, ramps or stairs at first but with some encouragement, trust, patience, and time I do get it and I am okay. I am working on the potty thing, I do well with a routine but sometimes I forget to ask to go out.  That’s me, a gem in the making and with a little more polish and patience from my human we can be forever pals. I think when I was a pup I didn’t get much attention and all this learning to be my best I am learning now. So, I would love to meet my human if they want to meet me, I’m sure I won’t let you down.”  Lucky is medically up to date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken. Apply to meet this special boy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2313572##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lucky, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
