My story

If you're looking for a cuddle buddy to spend your days snuggled up on the couch with, then this girl is the one for you! Meet Trixie, a super sweet 4 year old spayed female terrier/lab mix, weighing about 65 lbs! This girl is a total LOVEBUG who loves everyone she meets! She has never met a stranger and just wants to love and be loved. She also has the most stunning chocolate eyes! Trixie is great with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. She loves to chew on a good bone and walks well on leash. She'd love nothing more than a home to call her own, and would blend into most home environments seamlessly. From Trixie's current foster:  "Fun fact about Trixie: her eyes are brown but both are a different shade! That’s right, it’s not the lighting or sun casting tricks it’s just her uniqueness that matches her personality. Trixie is a very sweet and low energy dog. She loves humans and has a drive to please. You’re instantly her best friend and she would love you even more if you throw her ball a few times.  She’s good around my dogs but definitely lets them know she just wants to chill and be left out of the shenanigans. She loves loves loves toys but balls are her favorite (she’ll take them all if she can). The first day I brought her home she went around my yard picked up a toy, walked to the next one, picked that one up, onto to next, so on and so forth until she touched every one!  Although she’s a big couch potato, her main focus is being next to you as much as possible." As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
