See my Video! Meet Cara, a 7-year-old pit bull with a heart of gold and a personality that's pure joy. Friendly, funny, and sweet as can be, Cara is all about her people-she's a total social butterfly who just loves to chat with little pitty squeaks! Her previous family adored her but had to part ways due to landlord restrictions. She was then adopted but unfortunately had to be returned due to a divorce. But ask either of her previous people and they'll tell you: Cara is simply the best. Cara's favorite things are long walks and a good game of tug-of-war. She hasn't lived with other dogs but has made a few mellow dog friends and may be open to a similar buddy in her new home. She should meet any dogs she's going to live with. Cara has lived happily with a cat before and has done well with kids ages 8 and up. If you're looking for a lovable, loyal companion who brings big smiles and even bigger cuddles, Cara could be the perfect match! If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt. **the below two methods are slower than visiting us** Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
