My story

Meet Joe! This sweet 4-year-old, long-haired Chihuahua/Spaniel mix weighs in at around 16 lbs and is already neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines. Joe is also house and crate trained, and he's been working hard to become the best version of himself-he just needs the right person to help him continue that journey. Joe is more than just a cute face-he's smart, sensitive, and thrives with structure and routine. In the past, Joe's irresistible charm meant people let him call the shots, which made his world feel small and uncertain. But after six weeks of professional training and continued work in his foster home, Joe has blossomed into a confident and well-mannered companion. His ideal home will be one that respects and reinforces the progress he's made-someone experienced, patient, and committed to continuing his training. Joe will do best in a calm, child-free environment with clear expectations and daily routines. He gets along well with other respectful, mellow dogs and enjoys long daily walks to help him stay relaxed and happy. If you're the kind of dog-savvy adopter who values structure, boundaries, and helping a dog truly thrive, Joe may be the perfect match. We are currently accepting applications from the Greater Charlotte area and surrounding counties. If you're interested in meeting Joe, please contact us at adopt@carolinapaws.com.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Joe, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
