My story

My current foster writes: Asteroid has big eyes but a bigger heart. This shy boy wants to be loved, but is timid to make the first move sometimes. Once he gets comfortable around you though, he will come greet you good morning and welcome home and show you a curious side. Asteroid loves being brushed, taking lots of naps, and gentle pets and would do best in a quiet, patient home with a person that will help him gain more confidence - I'm sure he'll reward you with a love that, like his name, is out of this world. What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.I am finding the shelter a bit overwhelming. Outside one-on-one I am a great big cuddle bug.I am looking for a home with a patient person. Please check here for updated adoption hours.A volunteer writes: Asteroid's world has gotten smaller and though it isn't what he wanted, he isn't quite sure how to fix it. Asteroid's person passed away and he was brought to us in late May. So many big changes have led Asteroid to seek comfort and safety in his den. Though the door is always open, Asteroid doesn't often come out. He wants to say hello and make friends, but appears completely and heartbreakingly stumped on how one makes the first move. So, he waits... and waits, and waits, and waits. Asteroid's favorite staff member pointed him out to me explaining that Asteroid loves to lean into pets and will purr in sheer happiness as soon as he's given the opportunity. When I went to visit, I saw Asteroid sitting with his paws wrapped around his blanket like a gentle hug. He began to nuzzle the doorway of his den before very sweetly doing the same to my hand. He would tuck his head down and bashfully look back up at me as though he couldn't quite believe his luck. Asteroid was even sweeter than his friend described. Let's help Asteroid make his world bigger and brighter again by helping him find his forever family. Primary Color: Brown Tabby Weight: 9.13 Age: 10yrs 11mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Asteroid, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
