Boomer Rang

My story

Affectionate, Chill, Snugglemonster Meet Boomer Rang! This handsome orange and white boy is an absolute sweetheart who lives for attention and hanging out with people. He is a dedicated ankle polisher, foot warmer, and experienced office buddy who likes to be within petting range as often as possible. A total lap cat, he’s happiest curled up in your arms or soaking up pets, and will let you know by snuffle purring loudly and slow blinking. He’ll also let you know if he wants attention or if he’s hungry by either appropriating your lap or sprawling on your desk. Because he likes to stay close, he's very conveniently positioned for scritches and smooches, and his foster can confirm that his noggin is quite smoochable! Confident, outgoing, but chill, Boomer Rang loves visitors and will stroll right over to say hello in the form of a cute little trill. When he’s not attached to you, you’ll find him birdwatching, napping in a sunny spot, or sprawled somewhere on the floor, sometimes belly up. This silly boy doesn’t have the brain cell very often so it took him months to figure out what a cat bed is used for, but once he did, he does a great impersonation of a snoozing fuzzy shrimp in it. Occasionally, a playful mood strikes him but he’s still learning what toys he likes best. So far, he likes swatting at a wand toy in the laziest way possible and playing bat-bat under the door. He has good house manners and enthusiastically uses a scratching post daily. Boomer Rang also loves to be brushed! Boomer Rang came to APA! with persistent skin issues and wounds from scratching at his itchy skin. We’re happy to report that he’s mostly healed up now, but when he has flares, he wears a cone and shirt to prevent him from further scratching. (We think he looks rather cute in a shirt, too.) After some adjustments, the vets have found a few medications that work well and a special diet. He’d do best in a home where his person can keep on top of his medications and give him all the snuggles he wants. Fortunately, he’s a very good boy about getting medicated as long as he gets ample scritches and lap time afterward!
