My story

?? Meet Lucy (formerly known as Paige) Lucy is a beautiful 3-year-old Plott Hound mix who’s looking for her forever forever home. She originally arrived at PAC as a stray back in December 2023 and spent some time in foster care due to being a very nervous girl. She blossomed there and was adopted by her foster in January 2024. Unfortunately, Lucy returned to PAC on 6/12/25 after deciding that sharing a home with a cat was just not for her.Her previous owner had many great things to say about her:Loves her humans deeplyGreat with kids ages 9–12Walks nicely on leashPotty trained (though may have accidents if left too long)Knows commands like sit, lay down, paw, and high fiveCan be an escape artist — will slip out of large gaps or open gates?? Behavior & Personality Notes:Lucy is not a match for homes with cats due to her past behaviorShe is best suited to a calm, adult-only home or a quiet environment with older childrenSlow, thoughtful introductions work best for her — especially with other dogsShe recently had a successful dog-to-dog test with another calm dog, Sasha — both dogs moved at a slow, methodical pace and respected each other’s signalsShows little interest in toys, preferring to engage with people insteadDid excellent in her sociability and food handling assessments (all A grades!)?? Lucy`s Ideal Home:No catsNo young kids — older children or adult-only home preferredA calm resident dog who interacts gently and at a slow pace could be a great matchSecure fencing (she’s smart and sneaky with open gates!)A patient, loving person or family who will give her the time and structure she needs to feel safe againLucy has made a lot of progress and is ready to connect with someone who understands her need for a slower pace and a steady routine. If you`re looking for a loyal companion who already knows her manners and just wants a safe, cat-free home — Lucy could be the perfect fit. ??#AdoptLucy #PlottHoundMix #FromStrayToStay #RescueDogLove #AdoptDontShop #ShyDogStrong
