My story

Meet Duncan Duncan is a 4-year-old neutered sweetheart with movie-star looks and a personality to match. If you’ve visited the shelter, chances are you’ve already met this handsome stud — he’s usually the first one greeting everyone like he owns the place (and honestly… he kind of does).Duncan was previously adopted from us, but through no fault of his own, he has found his way back and is ready for a true forever home. This goofy, lovable guy is the total package. He already knows how to sit, loves to please his people, and is always up for an adventure — especially if it involves walks (his absolute favorite activity). Whether he’s out exploring the neighborhood or zooming around the yard with his dog friends, Duncan is happiest when he’s on the move and having fun. He’s also been known to lend a helping paw behind our dispatch desk — mostly for moral support and snack supervision — but we like to think he takes his job very seriously.Duncan is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and thrives on human connection. He bonds deeply with his people and will happily soak up all the love and attention you can give. Now, let’s talk about cats…Duncan has made it very clear that cats are not his thing. In fact, if Duncan had a motto, it might be: “No cats, no exceptions, no negotiations.” So a cat-free home is definitely the way to go for this guy. While he loves to play, Duncan does best with lower-energy dog companions who match his vibe without overwhelming him. Because of his size and playful personality, he would be happiest in a home with older children.A home with a secure, fenced-in yard would be ideal so he can run, play, and enjoy the outdoors — one of his favorite things.Duncan is more than just a good boy — he’s a loyal companion, a daily source of laughter, and the kind of dog who will greet you like you’re the best part of his day… every single day.If you’re looking for a goofy, loving best friend who will keep you smiling and always be by your side, Duncan is ready to meet you. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is SPONSORED!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt DUNCAN, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
