lhcr_kwilliams ❤️ MEET MOCHA! ❤️ LOCATION: TROY, MO ADOPTION FEE: $500 🐾 A Little Ruby Cavalier with Lots of Love to Give! 🐾 Mocha is a 9-month-old, smaller Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a sweet nature and a playful spirit! ❤️ When this little guy is around other dogs, his personality truly lights up. He loves being part of the pack, and we believe having a confident canine companion in his forever home will help him continue to blossom. Mocha loves the outdoors and exploring his fenced yard. He is currently working on his leash skills and will need continued practice and encouragement. Inside, he enjoys exploring the house, discovering toys his foster siblings have forgotten about, and curling up with the pack on the couch for a nap. He also loves snuggling in the big bed at night and sleeps soundly through the night. ❤️ This sweet boy loves both dogs and cats! He is curious about the kitties and their ability to sneak into rooms he can’t access, and he enjoys watching them play in the sunroom. He has even been spotted curled up on the couch napping with a kitty! Mocha is a playful puppy with a gentle, affectionate side. Mocha is still working on his socialization skills and learning to share his space, food, and toys. He responds well to gentle correction and redirection, and with continued positive guidance, he can keep building these important skills. He is also making progress with potty training, but consistency is key. Frequent trips outside every one to two hours during the day, along with outings first thing in the morning, after meals and drinks, and before bedtime, help him succeed. At mealtime, Mocha eats Open Farm Raw Mix kibble with freeze-dried raw toppers. He can be a little shy about eating and sometimes needs foster mom to hand-feed him a few bites to get started, but he will usually finish his bowl. He loves freeze-dried raw treats as rewards and is also enjoying fresh blueberries while discovering other fruits and veggies. 🫐 Mocha came into rescue with Giardia, as many puppies do, but completed his treatment some time ago. He occasionally receives probiotics and pumpkin for digestive support. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and receives monthly Sentinel heartworm prevention. 🩺 Mocha would love a family with friendly canine companions, gentle children, and a securely fenced yard where he can safely explore and play. A confident dog friend will be especially important to help him continue developing his social skills. A home where his people are away for shorter periods would also be ideal while he works on potty training and adjusts to his new surroundings. Mocha is a sweet little boy who has so much love to give! With patience, consistency, and a furry friend by his side, he has every opportunity to continue blossoming into a wonderful companion. If flying, Mocha must travel in the airplane cabin; he will not be permitted to travel in cargo. Leia’s Hope Canine Rescue is a foster-based, volunteer-run rescue. An approved application is required before meet-and-greets, and applications are reviewed to find the best fit for each individual dog. Please allow 7–10 business days for application processing.
