QUICK FACTS Name: Irang Age: 3 years old Breed: Labrador Retriever Gender: Female, Spayed Weight: 23 kg / 50.7 lbs Color: Black Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed MY RESCUE STORY My story began at a dog meat farm in Yangju, South Korea, where I spent my life in conditions no dog should ever have to experience. After the farm owner surrendered ownership of the dogs, I was transferred to a rescue organization and eventually saved through the Angel Project. Before my rescue, the only world I had ever known was the farm. It's believed that I may have experienced pregnancy and given birth while living there, although my full history remains unknown. When I first arrived at the rescue center, the years of living in such poor conditions had left their mark. Even after several baths, it took time for the lingering odors from my previous environment to disappear. But slowly, with proper care and a clean, safe place to rest, those reminders of my past began to fade. What makes my story especially remarkable is that, despite everything I went through, I never lost my gentle and loving nature. I greet people with kindness, accept affection with an open heart, and treat everyone around me with a softness that seems almost impossible considering where I came from. I've already overcome so much, including heartworm treatment, and now I'm finally healthy enough to begin the next chapter of my life. I don't know what it's like to grow old surrounded by a loving family yet. But I hope someone will give me the chance to find out. MY HEALTH Spayed Previously treated for heartworm in August 2026 Heartworm antigen test: Negative as of October 14, 2026 Has received veterinary care following her rescue MY PERSONALITY Hi, I'm Irang! People often say that Labrador Retrievers are some of the gentlest dogs in the world. Well, my rescuers seem to think I might be the perfect example of why. I'm an incredibly sweet, patient, and affectionate girl with a heart that seems to have room for absolutely everyone. Whether you're someone I've known for a long time or someone I'm meeting for the very first time, I greet you with the same gentle kindness. I don't need much time to warm up, and I'm perfectly comfortable receiving affection from new people. My rescuers were amazed by how calm and trusting I was from our very first meeting. Even when they touched my paws, trimmed my nails, gently handled my legs, or held my tail, I remained relaxed and cooperative. I simply seem to trust that the people around me mean well. I love treats, enjoy gentle attention, and already know how to sit and wait when asked. But what really makes me special isn't a trick I can perform or how quickly I learn something new. It's the way I make people feel. There's something incredibly comforting about my presence. I'm the kind of dog you can imagine lying beside you after a long day, quietly keeping you company without asking for anything in return. My rescuers often say that being around me feels peaceful, almost as though I was born to bring comfort to the people who love me. And despite my difficult past, I have so much love left to give. MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I'm exceptionally friendly, gentle, and affectionate with people of all kinds. Men, women, familiar faces, and complete strangers are all welcome in my world. I happily approach people for attention and allow gentle handling without difficulty. I'm comfortable having my paws and legs touched, being picked up with proper support, and receiving affection. Once I'm especially comfortable, I may even roll over and show you my belly. · With Dogs: I'm remarkably tolerant and easygoing around other dogs, regardless of their size. I can approach other dogs to greet them and sometimes invite them to interact, but I'm generally quite relaxed and don't demand their attention. Even when another dog becomes pushy or confrontational, I usually choose to ignore the behavior or move away rather than react. My rescuers have seen both small and large dogs approach me energetically, and I remain impressively calm. · With Cats: I haven't had enough experience around cats yet for us to know how I would behave living with one. Slow and supervised introductions would be important if my future family has a cat. MY ENERGY LEVEL I'm a naturally calm and easygoing girl who enjoys a peaceful environment. I'm not the kind of dog who constantly demands attention or needs to be entertained every second. I seem quite content simply being near people and enjoying their company. Of course, as a Labrador Retriever, I'll still benefit from regular exercise, enrichment, and opportunities to explore the world around me. My exact daily exercise needs will become clearer as I settle into a home environment, especially as I continue adjusting to life beyond the rescue center. What we do know is that I have a wonderfully relaxed temperament and an exceptional ability to remain calm in different situations. MY WALKING SKILLS I generally follow my person well during walks, although I can sometimes pull on the leash. Since I spent much of my life on a dog farm, there are still many things about everyday life that I'm learning. Regular walks, patient guidance, and positive reinforcement will help me develop even better leash manners. I already know how to sit and wait, and since I enjoy treats, food rewards may be a helpful way to continue building my skills. I'm looking forward to discovering what walks can really be: peaceful moments spent exploring the world with someone who loves me. MY HOME LIFE & MANNERS Despite having spent my life on a dog farm, I have some truly wonderful qualities that could help me adjust to family life. I'm generally very quiet and rarely bark, and I remain calm when placed in a kennel. I also know how to get into and out of a car on my own, which is a lovely skill for future adventures with my family. I currently use both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty areas. Since I've never experienced a traditional home environment, I'll need some patience and consistency as I learn my new family's routine. I show no food guarding toward people or other dogs, even though I really enjoy treats. One of my most remarkable qualities is how comfortable I am with gentle handling. From nail trimming to having my paws and legs touched, I have shown an extraordinary amount of patience and trust. My rescuers believe that my calm and adaptable nature may help me settle into a new environment, although, like any rescue dog, I'll still need time to adjust. WHAT I'M STILL LEARNING For most of my life, the world was much smaller than it should have been. I didn't grow up knowing what it meant to sleep in a comfortable home, enjoy family routines, or experience all the little things that other dogs sometimes take for granted. So even though I'm already an incredibly gentle and well-mannered girl, there are still new experiences ahead of me. I'll need time to learn the routines of living in a home, continue practicing my leash manners, and become familiar with new environments. I may also need reassurance as I discover unfamiliar household sounds, activities, and experiences. Thankfully, I have a wonderful foundation to build on. I'm trusting, affectionate, patient, and comfortable around people and other dogs. I also know a few basic commands and respond well to treats. With a loving family to guide me, I have every opportunity to discover just how beautiful everyday life can be. MY IDEAL HOME My dream home doesn't need to be anything extraordinary. I don't need a huge house, fancy toys, or a perfect backyard. What I really need is a family who will love me for the rest of my life and give me the peaceful, comfortable future I've always deserved. I'd be happiest with people who appreciate a gentle companion and enjoy spending quality time with their dog. Because I'm so calm and tolerant around other dogs, I could potentially do well with a compatible canine sibling, provided introductions are thoughtful and everyone has their own space. I'd also love a family who understands that even the sweetest rescue dogs need time to settle in. Although I seem remarkably adaptable, adjusting to an entirely new life is still a big change. My future family should also be prepared to follow their veterinarian's recommendations for any necessary monitoring after my previous heartworm treatment. Most importantly, I hope to find someone who will look at me and see more than just a dog who survived a difficult past. I want them to see the loving companion I've always been, just waiting for the opportunity to belong. WHY YOU'LL LOVE ME There are some dogs who make you smile the moment you meet them. And then there are dogs who make your heart ache a little, because you can't understand how someone so gentle could have experienced so much hardship. My rescuers say I'm one of those dogs. They call me an angel. Not because I'm perfect, but because of the extraordinary kindness I show to everyone around me. I don't care whether you're a man or a woman, someone I've known for years or someone I've only just met. I don't mind if another dog is bigger than me, smaller than me, or a little too excited. I simply go through life with a gentleness that seems to surprise everyone who meets me. Even after everything I've experienced, I still trust people. I still welcome affection. I still look at the world with soft, loving eyes. My rescuers sometimes say they wish they could take me home themselves, curl up beside me, and let the whole world feel a little quieter for a while. That's the kind of comfort I bring. For three years, I lived in a place where I was never given the life I deserved. But those years don't have to define the rest of my story. I have so many beautiful days ahead of me, and I hope to spend every single one of them knowing what it feels like to be loved. I spent the beginning of my life surviving. Now, all I want is the chance to spend the rest of it being someone's beloved family.
