QUICK FACTS Name: HappyBean Age: 2 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Mini Poodle Color: Black/Gray Weight:  4.5kg / 9.9lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a terrible puppy mill where Poodles like me were kept in heartbreaking conditions. Instead of experiencing the love, comfort, and care every dog deserves, I spent my days in an environment filled with neglect and uncertainty. Thankfully, kind rescuers stepped in and brought me to safety, giving me a second chance at life. Those difficult days are finally behind me, and I'm ready to discover what it truly means to be part of a loving family.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Despite everything I've been through, I'm still incredibly trusting of people! I absolutely love human companionship and seem to have a special soft spot for men, often gravitating toward them a little more than women. I form strong attachments to people and love being close to my favourite humans. If you want to win me over, tasty treats are definitely the way to my heart! One funny thing about me is that it's still a little hard to tell whether my coat is black or silver! Since I was only recently rescued, my fur had to be shaved due to severe matting. But don't worry, once my beautiful coat grows back, I'm sure I'll be an adorable, fluffy little Poodle! I'm a sweet, people-oriented pup who craves affection and reassurance. After spending so much of my life without the love and attention I deserved, I'm more than ready to make up for lost time with a family of my own!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a teeny bit shy when we first meet, but it doesn't take much to win me over! A few tasty treats and some gentle encouragement help me warm up quickly. Once I'm feeling comfortable, I'll happily accept gentle pets and affection. I'm also comfortable being picked up and held, especially once I've gotten to know you a little better. Just give me a little time, and my sweet, trusting personality will shine through! · With Dogs: I'm definitely more of a people's pup! While I enjoy greeting new dogs and making new friends, I'm not the type to jump straight into playtime. I prefer to take things at my own pace and generally enjoy doing my own thing. I'm a peaceful little guy who would rather avoid any doggy drama! That said, my dog friends at the care facility are still very important to me. Their company brings me a lot of emotional comfort and reassurance, especially when I'm feeling a little unsure. I enjoy having familiar dogs around, even if I'm not always interested in playing with them. Sometimes, just having a friend nearby is all I need to feel more relaxed and secure! · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I'm still learning my leash manners, so I'll need a little more practice and guidance to become a confident walking companion. I'm a good boy around food and don't guard my meals or treats from people or other dogs. I can be a little vocal when I want attention, especially when I'm hoping for some extra love from my favourite people! Otherwise, I know how to settle down and rest calmly in my kennel. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, I'm sure I'll continue learning and improving my manners!   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I'm a friendly, affectionate little boy with so much love to give! I may need a teeny bit of time to warm up when we first meet, but once I feel comfortable, you'll have a loyal little shadow following you around! I love being close to my favourite people and will happily come over to ask for pets, cuddles, and extra attention. Despite being so young, I've already been through quite a lot, and there are still so many things about the world that I'm learning. Since I haven't had the easiest start in life, I'll need a patient, understanding family who can help me adjust to my new surroundings and build my confidence at my own pace. With a little time, gentle encouragement, and plenty of love, I have so much potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.
