My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Black Pepper Age: 3 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Mini Pinscher, Spitz mix Color: Black, Brown Weight:  8kg / 17.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY Before I was rescued, I was wandering the streets all alone, unsure of where I belonged or what my future would hold. To make matters even harder, I was pregnant and trying my best to survive while carrying my little puppies. I relied on the kindness of strangers who offered me food along the way, helping me get through each uncertain day. Eventually, concerned people reported my situation, and I was taken to a city pound. Unfortunately, the shelter was overcrowded, and I was placed on the euthanasia list simply because there wasn't enough space. After everything I had already been through, my future was once again at risk. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in before it was too late and brought me to a safe care facility, where I no longer have to worry about being euthanized. Now, those uncertain days are behind me, and I'm finally getting the second chance I deserve. I'm ready to leave my difficult past behind and find a loving forever family who will give me the safety, comfort, and happiness I've been waiting for!   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m a bit shy in the beginning but give me a bit of time and I will warm up and treats is a way to win over my heart! I’m particularly gentle with kids and I greet kids gently and even show my belly. I like to observe my environment by resting on higher grounds. I have a slight underbite, which adds to my charm. I gave birth to my puppies but I look like a puppy myself! I’m also friendly with my dog friends.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy when we first meet, especially in new environments where everything feels unfamiliar. I just need a little time to take things in and get comfortable. However, it doesn't take me long to warm up, and I promise the wait is worth it! I'm also great with children and have a sweet, gentle nature. Once I feel safe, I'll happily roll over to show you my belly for some extra belly rubs. And when we're officially friends, get ready for plenty of kisses and cuddles! I love snuggling up in someone's arms and soaking up all the affection. During my profile photoshoot, I did wonderfully! With a few tasty treats and a little encouragement from the volunteers and staff, it didn't take long for me to relax and show off my affectionate personality. Treats are definitely a great way to win me over! · With Dogs: I'm friendly with other dogs and love having canine friends around! My dog friends are also an important source of comfort and emotional support for me. When I'm feeling a little unsure or nervous, I often look to them for reassurance, and having a familiar companion nearby helps me feel more confident. I generally get along best with dogs around my size and have a peaceful, easygoing approach to socializing. I'm not one to start any doggy drama and would much rather keep things friendly! Because I find so much comfort in other dogs, I would do especially well in a home with a calm, confident dog sibling who can help me feel secure, show me the ropes, and teach me a thing or two as I settle into my new life! · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk nicely on leash and follow my handler’s lead well, making me a lovely walking companion! I also have great manners around food and don’t guard my meals or treats from either people or other dogs. I know how to settle down and rest calmly in my kennel, and I currently go potty both indoors using pee pads and outdoors. One of my little quirks is that I love resting in elevated spots where I can quietly observe my surroundings. I'm also quite the jumper! Because I can jump surprisingly high, my future family will need to supervise me carefully around fences and elevated areas to prevent escapes or accidental falls, especially while I'm adjusting to a new environment. I absolutely love running around and playing with my dog friends in the field! Their company brings me so much joy and helps me feel more confident. When I'm somewhere unfamiliar, I may initially hide while I take in my surroundings. Just give me a little space and time to adjust, and I'll gradually come out of my shell. Although I can be sensitive to new experiences, I'm also quite adaptable and tend to settle in well once I feel safe and comfortable!   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever     SPECIAL NOTES Can you believe I've already been a mama? With my adorable little face, charming underbite, and youthful appearance, everyone says I still look like a puppy myself! I've had quite the journey, from surviving on the streets while pregnant to facing an uncertain future at a crowded city pound. Despite my difficult beginnings, I have a sweet, affectionate personality that's just waiting to shine! I can be a little shy in unfamiliar environments, but tasty treats and a little patience go a long way. Once I'm comfortable, I'll happily shower you with kisses, snuggle in your arms, and roll over for belly rubs. My dog friends are an important source of comfort for me, and I love playing with them! I'd especially enjoy having a calm, confident dog sibling around my size who can help me feel secure in my new home. One of my funny little quirks is that I love resting in elevated spots to observe my surroundings. I'm also quite the talented jumper, so my future family will need to supervise me carefully around fences and high places to keep me safe. I'm a sensitive but adaptable girl who just needs a little time to settle into new surroundings. With a patient family, a consistent routine, and plenty of love, I have so much potential to thrive. After everything I've been through, I'm ready for a fresh start filled with cozy cuddles, outdoor adventures, and happy memories with a family of my own!   BLACK PEPPER'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2865412##
