QUICK FACTS Name: Leah Age: 6 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Mini Poodle Color: Black, Gray Weight:  7kg / 15.4lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY My life took a heartbreaking turn in June 2026 when my previous owner sadly passed away, leaving me all alone with no one to care for me. Suddenly, the life I had known was gone, and I was left facing an uncertain future. Thankfully, I was rescued and given a second chance at finding the love, safety, and stability that every dog deserves. Although my journey hasn't been easy, I'm ready to put those difficult days behind me and begin a brand new chapter.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY My previous owner was an elderly man who sadly passed away, and I was found by his side. It was a heartbreaking experience, and suddenly, the life I had always known was turned upside down. Despite everything I've been through, I haven't lost my bright, curious, and loving spirit! I absolutely adore people and especially seem to have a soft spot for men! I love being around my humans and will happily follow them from room to room, always curious about what they're doing and hoping to spend a little extra time together. The volunteers and staff can tell that I was very loved in my previous home. My comfort around people and familiarity with home life suggest that I was once a cherished companion who knew what it felt like to be part of a family. Because of my friendly personality and previous experience living in a home, the volunteers and staff are confident that I'll adjust well to a new family. All I need is another chance to experience the love, comfort, and companionship I once knew. I have so much love left to give, and I can't wait to share it with my forever family!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m incredibly friendly and love meeting new people! I happily greet everyone I meet with a cheerful attitude and am always excited to make new friends. I absolutely love receiving pets and affection, and I’ll gladly soak up all the attention you have to offer! I’m also comfortable being picked up and held, making it easy to enjoy some extra cuddle time together. Whether we’ve just met or have known each other for a while, I’m always happy to be around people and share my love! · With Dogs: I’m a friendly and social pup who loves meeting new canine friends! I happily greet other dogs and enjoy getting to know them. I generally get along best with dogs around my size, as I feel most comfortable with companions who are similar to me. I enjoy having dog friends around and would love to continue making new friends and enjoying fun experiences together! · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I can pull on leash at times, but overall I follow my handler’s lead nicely. I’m a super curious pup who loves exploring the world around me! During walks, I like to take my time, sniff interesting scents, and investigate everything with my nose. I may stop here and there to check things out, so I’d love a family who enjoys leisurely walks and will give me plenty of opportunities to explore at my own pace. I also have great manners around food and don’t guard my meals or treats from either people or other dogs. I currently don’t show signs of separation anxiety, but because I form strong attachments to my favourite people, there is a possibility I could develop it as I settle into my new home. For this reason, I would benefit from consistent training and gradual desensitization to being alone from the beginning, helping me build confidence and independence while adjusting to my new routine. I may bark occasionally when I want some extra attention, but I also know how to settle down and rest calmly in my kennel. For potty habits, I currently go both indoors using pee pads and outdoors. With a consistent routine, patience, and positive reinforcement, I can continue building good habits in my forever home!   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES Despite the heartbreaking loss of my previous owner, I haven't lost my bright, curious, and loving personality! I'm an incredibly sweet and affectionate pup who absolutely adores people, especially men! I love following my favourite humans around, soaking up attention, and simply being part of whatever they're doing. During my profile photoshoot session, I was very curious and roamed around everywhere and explored my new environment with my nose. I am a smart pup and will settle in quickly.
