My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Haetbam Age: 1 year old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Terrier mix Color: White, Brown Weight: 8kg / 17.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I’m not sure how I ended up alone, but it’s believed that I may have been abandoned by my previous family. While wandering on my own, I came across a group of people on a cross country trek and decided to follow them for more than 20 km. I seemed determined to stay close to people, as if I was searching for someone to belong to. Eventually, I ended up at a city pound. With limited space and the risk of being placed on the euthanasia list, a rescuer stepped in and brought me to safety. Sadly, I wasn’t able to find a family in Korea, so now I’m hoping my forever family might be waiting for me overseas. After travelling so far just to stay close to people, I’m ready to finally stop searching and find a family I can follow home for good.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I even had my little moment of fame! My story made the news after I followed a cross country trekking group for over 20 km. I loved being around the group and happily followed along, showing just how much I craved human companionship. Despite the uncertainty of my past, I’m an incredibly bright, cheerful, and adaptable boy. I don’t let what happened to me define who I am today. I’m friendly with both people and other dogs, and with my easygoing personality, I’m expected to adjust well to different environments. I’m also a smart boy who already knows how to sit and wait! And if my personality doesn’t win you over first, my beautiful eyes might. I’m always getting compliments on them because the dark markings around my eyes make it look like I’m naturally wearing mascara.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m a friendly and affectionate boy who loves meeting new people and making new friends! I happily approach strangers to say hello and enjoy all the attention and affection they have to offer. I’m very comfortable around people, even when we’ve just met. I’ll happily let you pick me up and may even roll over to show you my belly right away. I’m an easygoing, trusting boy who seems to believe that every new person is simply a new friend waiting to be made. · With Dogs: I’m friendly and social with other dogs too! I love meeting new canine friends, and playtime is one of my favourite things. I’m always happy to join in the fun and enjoy spending time with my dog friends. I generally get along best with dogs around my size who have a similar play style and energy level. With the right match, I’d be happy to have a canine sibling to share my adventures with.  · With Cats: I previously lived with a cat for about a month while staying in foster care and did well sharing my space with them. When I see cats or birds during my walks, I generally don’t show much interest and prefer to stay focused on my handler. With proper introductions, I could potentially do well in a home with a feline friend.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk nicely on leash and follow my handler’s lead well, making me a great walking companion. I also have good manners around food and don’t guard my meals or treats from either people or other dogs. I’m a surprisingly quiet boy for a Terrier mix! I rarely bark, although I may occasionally speak up when I’m looking for some extra attention. I also know how to settle down and rest calmly in my kennel. For potty habits, I currently go both indoors using pee pads and outdoors. With a consistent routine in my forever home, I should continue adjusting nicely.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a bright, social boy with a happy personality and a real love for both people and dogs. Despite the uncertainty of my past, I haven’t let it define me. I’m trusting, affectionate, playful, and always excited to make new friends. The volunteers and staff often compliment me on how well I read the room. I seem to understand the energy around me and know when it’s time to play, when it’s time to settle, and when someone could use a little companionship. I have a calm, easygoing presence that makes me such a delight to have around. There’s just something about me that has a way of finding its way into people’s hearts. Maybe it’s my gentle nature, my beautiful mascara eyes, or the way I simply enjoy being by your side.
