My story

Please note this dog is NOT an official Underdog dog, and you will be connected with the person who has the dog. Please Contact (Current Owner of Dog):  Erin, eeb082@gmail.com MEET  Luna#15!! Luna is a beautiful, sweet, loyal Husky who has spent her entire life devoted to her family. Now, through no fault of her own, she is looking for a loving forever home where she can enjoy her golden years feeling safe, settled, and deeply loved. Luna was rescued from a backyard breeder in 2021 and has been a cherished member of her family ever since. She has experienced quite a few changes over the years, including multiple moves, living in an RV, a new baby, and a difficult divorce, yet she has continued to be an incredibly loving and loyal companion. Her family has worked hard with her, including completing PetSmart's beginner, intermediate, and advanced training classes. Luna's personality Luna is sweet, gentle, affectionate, playful, funny, and incredibly loyal. Despite being a Husky, she is surprisingly calm and relaxed inside the home. Her favorite things include sunbathing, going for walks, napping near her people, and simply being close to her family. She is house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, and sleeps peacefully through the night. She is also not destructive and does not typically chew furniture or household items. She can comfortably stay home while her family is away and settles nicely once everyone leaves. Luna loves other dogs and enjoys playing at the dog park. A calm, friendly canine companion could be wonderful for her, especially because Luna is also a big fan of relaxing and taking naps with her dog friends. Luna does become anxious in doggy daycare and is not a good candidate for that environment due to a previous traumatic experience with another dog. She is happiest having a predictable routine and relaxing at home with her people. Kids, cats & other animals Luna can tolerate children but would ideally do best in a home without young children or with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to interact respectfully with a dog. She does well with cats and knows how to play appropriately with them. However, Luna does have a prey drive, so she should not live with small or exotic animals. Luna's ideal home Luna is looking for someone who understands and appreciates Huskies and preferably has experience with Huskies or other large dogs. She needs a stable, loving home where her person will be committed to her for the rest of her life. She does not need constant entertainment. A daily morning walk, regular opportunities to get out and explore, and plenty of time relaxing with her people have been a great routine for her. Luna does have ongoing medical needs and requires a limited-ingredient diet and daily medication. More information about her medical care will be provided to serious potential adopters. More than just a pet Luna has been so much more than a dog to her family. For the past three years, she has served as a seizure-alert service dog and has alerted her person to multiple seizures. She has also helped her family through difficult moments, including assisting her owner's mother after she broke her wrist. She and her family have truly been there for one another, and finding her the right home is incredibly important. Her family is heartbroken to say goodbye, but wants to make sure Luna has the stable, comfortable life she deserves rather than putting her in a shelter. This will not be a quick or first-come, first-served adoption. Luna's family would like to meet potential adopters and have two or three meetings so everyone can get to know one another and make sure it is the right fit. A rehoming fee will apply. Luna is currently in Phoenix, Arizona. If you or someone you personally know and trust may be the perfect match for Luna, please send a message. Her family is happy to answer questions, provide additional photos and videos, and arrange a meet-and-greet. They would also prefer to receive occasional updates about Luna after adoption, as she is deeply loved, especially by the family's young daughter who absolutely adores her. Luna has spent her life loving her people. Now she is looking for someone who will love her just as fiercely and give her the safe, happy, forever home she deserves.  If you are interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website for our online application www.underdogaz.com  PLEASE NOTE: This dog is courtesy posted for another individual or Rescue.
