“Howdy… I’m Ranger, and I’m Ready to Find My Family.” From the splashâloving, mudâtasting, peopleâadoring desk of Ranger himself Hi there. My name’s Ranger, and I’m a 4–5âmonthâold German Shepherd puppy with a heart about ten sizes too big for my little body. I came to the Yuma Humane Society with my brother, Scout. We don’t know anything about our past — no stories, no clues, no memories except that we arrived together, two floppyâeared brothers trying to make sense of a brandânew world. But even without a history, I’m hoping my future is something wonderful… maybe wonderful enough to include you. Let me tell you who I am. First and foremost, I’m a sweet boy. I mean really sweet. I love people with my whole entire puppy soul. If you walk by, I’ll trot up with my tail wagging like a helicopter. If you stop to say hello, I’ll melt right into you. If you sit down, I’ll probably sit right next to you and lean in like we’ve known each other forever. I’m gentle, friendly, and always ready for affection. Now, about my ears… yeah, they’re probably never going to stand up. Scout’s either. But honestly? I think it makes us look extra adorable. More personality. More charm. More “you should adopt me immediately because look at this face.” I’m still learning about life, and I’m having a blast doing it. One of my favorite discoveries? Water tubs. If there’s a tub of water anywhere nearby, I’m in it. Sitting, soaking, thinking deep puppy thoughts. And if there’s no tub? Well, a mud puddle works just fine. Mud puddles have flavor, and I’m not ashamed to say I enjoy a little sip while I’m cooling off. Scout does too. We’re brothers — we share hobbies. I’ve already had all my important medical stuff taken care of. I’m neutered, microchipped, and current on all my vaccinations, so I’m ready to head home whenever you are. I don’t need to be adopted with Scout — we love each other, but we’re confident boys who can thrive separately. I’d do great with another dog, or I’d be perfectly happy being your oneâandâonly. As long as I have love, guidance, and someone who thinks floppy ears are cute, I’ll be just fine. I’m still figuring out the world, but I’m eager to learn everything. I want to know what toys are, what treats taste like, how soft a couch feels, and what it’s like to have a human who says, “Ranger is my dog.” I want to go on walks, splash in kiddie pools, nap in warm sunshine, and grow into the loyal, goofy, wonderful companion I’m meant to be. Most of all, I want someone who sees me — not just a puppy in a shelter, but a little soul with hope in his eyes and a wag in his tail. Someone who wants to give me a chance at the life every dog dreams of: a home, a family, and a place where I belong. If you think you might be that person… I’d really love to meet you. The humans here say all you have to do is send an email to mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be waiting — maybe in a water tub, maybe in a mud puddle, maybe sitting politely at the front of my kennel with my ears flopped sideways and my heart wide open. Until then… This is Ranger, hoping the next chapter of my story begins with you. PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail. All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis.
