My story

I adopted Odin (Odie) in March this year, just a month after I signed the lease to my new apartment. I didn’t sign my lease with intent to get a dog but after volunteering at the AHS for a few months prior, I met Odie. He was scared, his ears are what I noticed first, they’re always so expressive, you always know how he’s feeling with his ears. So when the AHS put us in a room together, all he wanted was to escape. He didn’t take the treats or toys, but he wasn’t scared of me, just completely uninterested. Until he finally stood in front of me and let me pet him. He didn’t lean in or acknowledge me, just let it happen. And that’s when I took him home. The first thing I wanted for him was to see him wag his tail, it took 2 weeks before he finally did. And from then on he’s been attached to me. I love Odin, truly. He’s sweet, gentle, happy, energetic, and so much more. So even though he’s still scared of strangers, when he loves you, he loves you more than food, toys, and treats.
