Note" Curently, Rumin is in Korea, but he will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.BackgroundRumin was rescued this summer from a closed-down pet shop in Korea. After his rescue, he has been staying at our partner boarding house, where he has been safe and cared for while waiting for his forever family.Rumin is still a young dog, but he already has such a wonderful personality. He is incredibly gentle, affectionate, and intelligent. He loves people and seems to enjoy every opportunity to connect with those around him.Personality & SocializationRumin is a sweet and gentle boy with an easygoing personality. He has absolutely no hesitation when meeting new people and happily welcomes both men and women. He loves attention and is very affectionate with people. He is also wonderful with other dogs. Rumin enjoys being around his canine friends and especially loves dogs who like to run and play. He is social, playful, and very comfortable around other dogs. For his age, Rumin has a moderate energy level. He enjoys walks and playtime but is not overly hyper. He does not show any unusual barking habits and is generally a calm and well-mannered young dog.One of Rumin’s most special qualities is how intelligent he is. He is a quick learner and very attentive to people. With consistent positive training, we believe he has the potential to become an exceptionally well-trained companion.BehaviourRumin is already doing very well with everyday activities. He rides well in the car, behaves nicely at the vet, and does well during bath time. He also has experience with walks and enjoys exploring the world around him.He does not have a habit of chewing inappropriate items and is generally gentle with his surroundings.Rumin currently prefers going potty outdoors. As an intelligent dog, he should continue to develop good habits as he settles into a routine with his new family.Since Rumin is still young, his future family should remember that he is still learning and growing. Like any young dog, he will need guidance, consistency, and positive training as he matures.Health and DietRumin has been neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and is up to date on his vaccinations. He takes monthly parasite preventatives. He has no known allergies and eats dry food twice a day. He is healthy and ready for his forever home.Ideal HomeRumin would be a wonderful match for a family who wants an affectionate, intelligent, and active young companion.Because he loves both people and dogs, a home with another friendly, playful dog could be a great fit. Having a canine friend who enjoys running and playing would give Rumin a wonderful outlet for his playful side. His future family should also be prepared to continue his training and give him plenty of mental stimulation. Rumin is exceptionally smart, and we believe he will thrive when given the opportunity to learn. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he could become an incredibly well-trained and devoted companion.Rumin has everything we could hope for in a young dog. He is gentle, affectionate, social, playful, and wonderfully smart. After his difficult start in life, he is ready for a family who will recognize how special he is and give him the loving home he deserves.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rumin, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
