My story

Meet Nico! This eight-month-old, 27-pound red heeler is everything you could ask for in a puppy pal! He arrived at GLDR with his siblings Ria and Gabriel. Let's help these lovable pups find the homes they deserve. With a beautiful red coat other pups can only dream of, Nico is one handsome dude! Playful and curious, this guy is always on the move exploring the world around him. He's tolerant of handling and happens to be a huge fan of having his ears rubbed. When you hear his gentle snorts you can't help but smile. Nico enjoyed an evening away from the kennel and was an excellent house guest! He appears to be house-trained (no accidents) and slept quietly in his dog bed. This little man enjoys walks around the neighborhood and rides well in the car. He had a blast exploring the backyard too! As he is still a young man, Nico will benefit from lots of daily exercise, continued training, and a yard to enjoy in his new home. Adopting a puppy is a long-term commitment that requires lots of dedication. We promise you he'll repay you with years of happy memories to come! Based on our evaluation, we feel Nico would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages five and up.
