My story

My name is Bryce, and I'm hoping my forever family is out there reading this right now. I'm about 2 years old and am believed to be a Border Terrier mix. A little while ago, I was found as a stray in Yuma with another dog who was probably my sister. We had been sticking together, looking out for one another, but when we entered the rescue system, she went to a different rescue. While I miss my old friend, I'm now focused on finding a family of my own and starting the next chapter of my life. When I first arrived at the pound, I was scared. Everything was loud, unfamiliar, and overwhelming. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what was going to happen to me. I think most dogs would feel the same way in that situation. Fortunately, the people at Central Arizona Animal Rescue gave me the chance I needed. Once I was out of the shelter environment and able to relax, I began to realize that not all changes are bad. Since coming to the rescue, I've really started to come out of my shell. The shy, uncertain dog everyone first met is becoming a confident, friendly guy who enjoys meeting new people and making friends. Every day I learn a little more about trusting people, and every day I discover that belly rubs, kind words, and treats are actually pretty wonderful. The people here tell me I'm a sweet boy with a lot of potential. I enjoy spending time with my human friends and getting attention. While I may need a little time to adjust to a new home, once I know I'm safe, my true personality starts to shine. I just need someone willing to be patient and let me settle in at my own pace. As a Border Terrier mix, I come from a breed known for being intelligent, loyal, and adaptable. Border Terriers were originally bred to work alongside farmers and hunters, so they're known for being tough little dogs with big hearts. They're also famous for being affectionate with their families and eager to be involved in whatever their people are doing. I think I inherited many of those qualities. I like being around people, I'm curious about the world, and I'm excited to continue learning and growing with a family that loves me. The good news is that I'm already ready for my new home. I've been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. All the important veterinary care has been taken care of, so all that's left is finding the right family to love me. What am I looking for? Honestly, nothing fancy. I'd love a home where I can feel safe, loved, and included. Maybe we could go for walks together, spend time in the yard, or simply relax at the end of the day. I don't need perfection. I just need a chance. Sometimes the best dogs are the ones who have had to overcome a few challenges. My story started as that of a stray dog wandering the streets, unsure of where I belonged. Today, I'm a happy, hopeful rescue dog looking toward a brighter future. I know my forever family is out there somewhere, and I can't wait to meet them. Could that family be yours? If you'd like to meet me, please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I promise to bring my best smile, my wagging tail, and my hopeful heart. Love, Bryce   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt.
