My story

Fred is a sweet, loving 6.5-year-old toy poodle who bonds deeply with his person and loves to play fetch. He is playful and affectionate when comfortable, but needs the right match. Fred has severe noise sensitivity - kitchen sounds, loud voices, and sudden movements startle him greatly. He has been this way since puppyhood and needs a very calm, quiet environment to feel safe. Important considerations: Fred does best in an adult-only or older children home, as he may nip if kids run or move suddenly. He resource guards his food and water and has attacked other dogs over this. He strongly prefers to be an only pet, though he can tolerate very calm dogs who mind their own business - no energetic or playful dogs. Ideal home: Single person or quiet couple with dog experience, preferably in a home with a fenced yard where he can play. No young children. Someone patient who understands anxious dogs and can provide a predictable, low-stress routine.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fred, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
