My story

This happy, social, lovely girl is Louise! Louise is a 7 month old female Doberman/German Shepherd mixed with who knows what! Likely some sort of farm/herding type dog and maybe a dash of hound. She currently weighs in at about 44 pounds, and does still have some growing to do - we would expect for her to mature to around 55 pounds, give or take a few. Louise and her sister were brought to Angels as strays. They were very hungry, very skinny, and VERY sweet! From the get-go it was hard to overlook just what amazing temperaments the girls had (and have!). Louise showed no fear, no hesitation, no nervousness. She simply seemed to figure that we all knew what would be best, and after apparently being on her own with only feed corn and grass to eat, she was ready for a new life.Louise has been a fantastic girl during her stay here at the shelter. She just wants attention and time from all the humans more than anything else. She has not been reactive at all with other dogs, and she would probably be fine living with a canine companion. A boyfriend would be ideal, considering her breed mix, but a complimentary female may also work - a meet and greet would absolutely be required before any placement. Cats are currently a big unknown. We think there might could be some chasing going on, but we are willing to test her reaction to a cat upon request. She would likely be fine with respectful children who know how to act around dogs, but might be a little too bouncy and puppy at this point for the very young - kids 8 and up are definitely preferred. Louise seems to ride well in the car and since she has been at Angels she is learning what a leash is and what is expected of her when she is on one. Work in progress but she is definitely an `A` student so far! She is brilliantly smart and adorably loving. She would benefit greatly from training classes to help you help her to be the best big girl dog she can be. With her apparent breed mix, you will be gaining a truly loyal companion who will likely earn the term `velcro dog` before too long. We are guessing that if you are in the market for an independent slightly aloof sort, this isn`t the one.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt LOUISE, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
