My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Soboru Age: 1 year old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Jindo mix Color: Brown Weight: 13kg / 28.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a crowded city pound after being placed on the euthanasia list due to a lack of space. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in just in time and gave me a second chance at life. Now, I'm safe and ready to find a forever family of my own. I can't wait to leave my past behind and start a new chapter filled with love, happiness, and a place to call home.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I got my name, Soboru, because of my beautiful brown fur! Staff and volunteers say my coat reminds them of delicious Korean peanut streusel bread, making Soboru the perfect name for me. I'm a handsome and elegant boy with many classic Jindo traits, from my striking appearance to my thoughtful and observant personality. I can be a little reserved and shy when we first meet, but give me a bit of time and I'll warm up quickly. Once I feel comfortable, you'll discover that I'm a friendly and affectionate boy who enjoys spending time with both people and dog friends. I'm also quite popular among the other dogs. I get along well with my canine companions, and somehow my calm confidence seems to earn the respect of the other dogs around me. Staff and volunteers often joke that I have a natural "boss" presence. Even dogs who can be a little pushy with others tend to be very respectful around me. With my good looks, gentle personality, and quiet confidence, I'm ready to find a forever family who will appreciate just how special I am.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People:  While I'm initially a little shy when meeting new people, I warm up quickly once I realize you're a friend. My curiosity often gets the better of me, and I'll happily approach to say hello, especially if you have treats! I take treats gently from your hand and enjoy getting to know people at my own pace. As my confidence grows, my sweet and friendly personality begins to shine through. I also allow myself to be picked up, making me an easygoing and affectionate companion once I feel comfortable. · With Dogs: I'm friendly with my dog friends and enjoy spending time around other dogs. I have good social skills and generally get along well with my canine companions. I tend to get along best with dogs of a similar size, and I enjoy calm, respectful interactions. My easygoing nature helps me make friends easily, and I coexist well with the other dogs around me. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I can pull on leash at times when I'm excited or interested in something, but overall I follow my handler's lead nicely and enjoy exploring by their side. I do not guard my food from people, although I can be a little sensitive when other dogs are nearby during mealtimes. I may bark occasionally when I want attention or have something to say, but I'm generally a very quiet and well-mannered boy. For potty habits, I can use both pee pads indoors and go potty outdoors. Once I have an established walking routine, I tend to prefer outdoor potty breaks. I carry many classic Jindo characteristics. I'm thoughtful, sensitive, and loyal, and I do best with people who understand that trust and bonds take time to build. I may need a little time to settle into a new environment and can be sensitive to loud noises or sudden sounds, which may startle me. However, I'm also a resilient boy who has overcome many challenges and continues to grow in confidence. With patience, consistency, and understanding, I'll form a deep bond with my family. Once that trust is established, I'll become a loyal and devoted companion who will always want to be by your side.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • A family who is understanding that I will need a bit of time to adjust and settle into my new environment • Ideally a family familiar with primitive breeds such as Jindos or Shibas, though this is not required. Most importantly, a patient family willing to give me time to settle in and build trust.   SPECIAL NOTES Just like the delicious Korean peanut streusel bread that inspired my name, I'm a handsome and elegant boy with a lot of classic Jindo charm. While I may seem a little reserved at first, I warm up quickly once I feel comfortable. I'm a resilient boy who has overcome many changes in life and continues to grow in confidence every day. Beneath my thoughtful exterior is a sweet, loyal companion who enjoys both people and dog friends. I'm also surprisingly popular with the other dogs. My calm confidence and respectful nature seem to earn the trust of those around me, and even dogs with stronger personalities often show me respect. I may need a little patience in the beginning, but once we build a bond, you'll discover a loyal, gentle-hearted companion who will always be happy to share life's adventures by your side.   SOBORU'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2763210##
