My story

Pike is a big, handsome, and very intelligent Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd mix. He inherited his larger, expressive head from the German Shepherd and his active, clever nature from the Malinois. He is a friendly, people-oriented dog who learns quickly and loves being part of the action. Pike enjoys toys, balls, interactive games, belly rubs, and relaxing on his back for attention. Highly food motivated and eager to please, Pike knows several commands and responds well to training and handling. He walks nicely on leash, rides calmly in the car, and is both house-trained and crate-trained. Pike shows no food aggression and remains calm around people and other dogs while out and about. Pike does well with female dogs but can be selective with male dogs. He is not suitable for a home with cats. This active boy is looking for a family that can provide regular exercise, playtime, and mental enrichment. While he would love a yard, he could also thrive in an apartment if his physical and mental needs are met. If you're searching for a loyal adventure partner, Pike may be the perfect match. Good with Men: Yes Good with Women: Yes Good with Kids: Yes, loves them Good with dogs: Yes, prefers female dogs Good with cats: No Housetrained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Energy level: Medium-High Can be handled/touched: Yes Flight risk: No; however, all dogs should be considered flight risks in new environments Walks on leash: Yes Leash reactive to people or dogs: No Rides well in car: Yes Food aggressive: No Destructive: No Needs a yard: No, but preferred Needs another dog: No Can live in an apartment: Yes, if provided with enough physical and mental stimulation Please visit our website niagaradogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
