My story

This is Paloma- she was rescued as a kitten from Animal outreach of the motherload in June of 2024. I love this cat to death, a recent move has caused an overwhelming amount of stress for all of us. Prior to this, she’s only hissed a few times in her life- when I first brought her home; when I tried to give her a bath (bad idea I know); when I got my other cat (she took a minute to warm up to him). For the past 4 months it’s been every time she sees my boyfriend. We’ve tried everything. He built a cat closet for her to give her a space to feel comfortable, which works when I’m not home. But the moment I’m here, she comes out, stands her ground and just hisses at him. Until I go over there, she sees me and runs away like she did something wrong. Again, I love her dearly, but she does like to test the waters with a lot of things. She’s also always been a chubby girl, we are on a diet…. But she is sneaky. She isn’t a very active cat, who I think would do better in a calmer environment.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Paloma, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
