Jack is a 3-year-old Terrier mix with a gentle heart, playful personality, and lots of love to give. He is the kind of dog who quickly becomes attached to his people and simply wants to be included in daily life. Whether hes heading out for a walk, curling up nearby, or playing with another dog, Jack is happiest when he feels connected and part of the family. Jack does like to go on little adventures of his own, so an adopter should ensure Jacks safety with a secure harness or double leash while getting used to his new home and surroundings. Jack has done well with all the people and dogs he has met in foster care and is described as friendly, mellow, and active. He rides nicely in the car, sleeps soundly overnight in his crate beside his foster, and enjoys walks and playtime. He has never shown aggression, does not guard food or toys, and has a very sweet, loving nature. Jack is also beginning to discover toys and play more confidently, which has been wonderful to watch as he settles into home life. Jack is still learning a few important life skills and would benefit from continued training and confidence building. Jack is still having periodical accidents in his crate when being left alone, but has improved greatly in the past couple of weeks. On walks, Jack can get distracted by all the exciting smells and may pull a little or try to investigate every tree along the way, so continued leash work will help him stay focused. He can also be a tiny bit jumpy when excited, but it comes from enthusiasm and affection rather than anything negative. Jack would thrive in a patient, loving home that can provide routine, companionship, and ongoing training. A fenced yard would be a bonus for this curious little explorer, though it is not required. He may do well with respectful children given his gentle nature, especially with proper introductions. In return, Jack will offer loyalty, companionship, and the kind of unconditional love that only a deeply devoted dog can give. Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. All dogs will be started on a 6 week trial of pet insurance after adoption. Local adopters can take advantage of 50% off a training course at Ruff Haus in Barrie (www.ruffhaus.ca) and all adopters will also be signed up for Petcademy to offer 30 days of free text-based behavioural support. Please visit our website www.preciouspawsrescue.ca to submit an adoption application.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jack, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
