My story

"Meet Friend! His name says it all. Friend is a handsome black male greyhound born on August 20, 2021, and if you're looking for a calm, easy-going companion who simply enjoys being part of the family, Friend may be the perfect match. This sweet boy is the definition of laid-back. He is quiet, well-mannered, and content to take life at a relaxed pace. Friend is the kind of dog who doesn't create drama, doesn't demand constant attention, and is simply a pleasure to have around. Whether you're relaxing at home, taking a leisurely walk, or enjoying a day by the water, Friend is happy to be by your side. One of his favorite places is the beach, where he can soak up the sights, sounds, and smells while spending time with his people. He has also been around children aged four years and older and has done very well, making him a wonderful candidate for a family home. Friend travels beautifully and shows no signs of stress in the car. He has some crate training and settles easily into new situations. During his assessment, he walked nicely on lead and remained completely relaxed throughout. While some dogs feel the need to be the center of attention, Friend was content to quietly observe his surroundings, taking everything in stride. When he met his assessor, he offered a polite sniff, enjoyed some affection, and happily interacted without being overly energetic or demanding. His gentle nature and calm confidence make him incredibly easy to be around. Friend also has excellent manners around other dogs. He gets along well with both large and small dogs and showed no signs of possessiveness around treats or food. In fact, he was so unconcerned that he didn't seem to mind when another dog helped itself to his treats. His relaxed attitude and friendly disposition make him a wonderful companion in multi-dog households. That said, Friend's independent nature means he may also be perfectly happy as an only dog, soaking up all the love and attention from his family. He doesn't seem to rely on other dogs for confidence or entertainment and appears comfortable simply being himself. If you're searching for a loyal companion with a gentle soul, easy manners, and a wonderfully relaxed outlook on life, Friend is ready to become exactly what his name promises—a true friend for life. Friend sounds like the kind of greyhound many adopters dream of: calm, uncomplicated, affectionate, and content just being part of the family."
