My story

MEET ASTRO!STATS: 3 years old, neutered, Staffy Mix, 53 lbsAFFECTION/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a big-headed baby with an ASTRO-nomical personality! I have big puppy energy and a love of all things fun. Playing outside? Check. Running around like I’ve never run before? Check. Playing with other dogs? Double check! Falling over my own four feet because I am so excited? Four paws up!WHAT I LOVE: I love running full speed in the yard and mowing down all my dog friends with my big noggin! I also really love getting scratches and I will lean so hard that you might also fall over! I am just a happy, fun-loving chonk with so much love to share!KIDS: While I haven’t been formally tested with kids at the shelter, the staff thinks I would do well in a home with older kids, since I am energetic and might knock down little ones. OTHER DOGS: I am dog friendly and I go to playgroup everyday at the shelter!CATS: UnknownHIS MATCH: I would love someone who is active, affectionate, and has just as much zest for life as I do! I have a lot of energy, so I would do wonderfully if you either have an active lifestyle or a fenced in yard where I can get some exercise. I would do wonderfully with a dog that is tolerant of my playful nature, or as your one and only!SPECIAL NOTE: I have one “up” ear and one “down” ear!Complete an online application and get pre-approved to adopt at https://www.cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/PetAdoptionSurvey. Once you complete the app, a staff member will call you in 1-2 business days once approved to set up a time for you to meet the pet you are interested in.Every adoptable pet is Spayed or Neutered, implanted with a microchip, current on age appropriate vaccinations including a current 1-year Rabies Vaccination, and current on monthly Flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention for dogs. All pets are behaviorally and medically evaluated prior to being placed up for adoption. Adoptions are matched based on best placement and require no negative animal history.
