My story

Meet Macy — Your Velcro Best Friend 🩷 📍 Colorado 🐾 French Bulldog 🎂 Approximately 2–3 Years Old 💗 Spayed Female 🐶 Dog Friendly If you’ve been searching for that once-in-a-lifetime dog who makes your house feel warmer just by existing in it… Macy may be your girl. Macy is the definition of a sweetheart. She adores people with her whole heart and wants nothing more than to be involved in every single part of your day. Folding laundry? Macy is supervising. Cooking dinner? Macy is curiously tilting her head while watching your every move. Relaxing on the couch? Macy will absolutely use you as her personal jungle gym before curling up tightly against your legs for snuggles. She has that youthful, goofy, puppy-like spirit that makes everyone fall in love with her instantly. While her shelter paperwork listed her as 5 years old, the vet believes she’s actually closer to 2–3 years old — and her playful energy definitely agrees. Macy is wonderful with other dogs and has been very respectful when they set boundaries. She’s even learning how to play with toys and engage in games like tug-of-war with her canine friends. She would likely thrive with another friendly dog to help continue building her confidence and playful side. She is crate trained, potty trained, walks well on leash, and knows how to sit. She’ll even do adorable little “tippy toes” at the back door when she needs to go outside. Like many rescue dogs adjusting to a new routine, she occasionally has little tinkle accidents, but overall she’s doing wonderfully. Macy does have allergies, and her ears are still healing and regrowing some hair, but none of that dims her sparkle. Through everything, she remains endlessly loving, happy, and eager for affection. Her future family should know she can get excited and jump up on people when happy, and because she’s curious and adventurous, continued work on recall and door manners will be important. She’s apparently been known to be a bit of a door darter if given the chance, though currently she’s cautious at thresholds unless encouraged. The best way to describe Macy? She’s joy in dog form. She’s goofy. Affectionate. Curious. Sweet beyond words. The kind of dog who follows you room to room simply because she loves being near you. The kind of dog who turns ordinary days into happier ones. Macy may eventually need BOAS surgery and therefore has a $350 special needs concession. This is not an emergency and this status may change as she gets more healthy with her allergies. Macy is ready to find the family who will adore her as much as she will adore them. 🩷

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Macy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
