My story

Lucy is a sweet, playful and loving dog. She’s very smart and typically only needs to be told once to rectify an unwanted behavior (excited jumping is the exception). She does shed despite her short coat. I believe that she is approximately four years old as I got her as a rescue dog. I don’t believe she’s ever been abused. She is very loyal. She doesn’t get up on furniture unless invited. She is a very vigilant watchdog. She can tell the difference between friendly visitors and unknown people. I love this dog. The reason I have to give her up is because if she gets out of my fenced yard (by accident, not by jumping over it), she completely ignores my calls. The unexpected freedom is too exciting for her. But she becomes aggressive if she sees another dog. She will not obey me and will not come with me even when I have her by the scruff of her neck. I’m not strong enough to manage her to get her home. And if I can’t physically manage my dog, I can’t keep her. It’s unfair to other dogs.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lucy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
