My story

Chowder is a hunk of fluffy love. Our best guess and that of the shelter is a Pei/Chow.  This guy is super mellow. He loves just chilling in the yard or the couch. He is super respectful of your furniture and is fine with a nice fluffy dog bed as long as it is close to his people. This guy is completely house trained. He is fostering with 3 other shar pei and is great with other dogs. We haven't witnessed any play dates yet but he likes to trot around with them in the back yard. He has been fine with eating around other dogs and doesn't seem to mind sharing his space or toys with other dogs. Unfortunately he needed to be completely shaved by the shelter due to severe matting. His poor coat was one solid piece of fur making walking and personal hygiene a real chore. No worries Chowder we will make sure your next family is very familiar with basic care of a longer coated pup. Chowder is fostering in Tucson AZMay 11, 2026, 9:11 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chowder, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
