You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Fergus Ferg is an 11-month-old Yorkie x Shih Tzu mix with a bright personality and a love for learning! This little guy is still very much a puppy at heart and is looking for a home that’s ready to help him grow into his very best self. Ferg does well with dogs his own size but isn’t a fan of larger dogs. He’s also cat-friendly! With people, Fergus prefers a slower introduction, but he warms up quickly and shows his sweet, loyal side. Fergus has previously shown some resource guarding tendencies, particularly around larger dogs. In his current foster home, he’s been doing wonderfully with structure—eating separately and using a slow feeder—which has helped him succeed. He’ll thrive in a home that understands and continues these management strategies. This smart boy is highly food motivated, making training both fun and rewarding! He’s already making great progress with his leash skills and is crate trained, happily settling in his crate at night. Because of his resource guarding, Ferg is looking for a home with no small children—older, respectful kids would be a better fit. He’s not looking to be just a couch companion; Fergus needs an active, committed home that will continue his training, provide structure, and keep his mind engaged.
