My story

If you would like an application or have any questions, please send an email to us at: info@ht-ac.org Whitney is currently in a foster home in Glastonbury with her daughter Celine (black and white tuxedo), three other cats, and a Chihuahua. She came from a home where she was loved, but she was not in the best of circumstances, and she had a number of litters of kittens before she was surrendered. There were thirteen other cats in the household, she was not able to get much attention, and she is very shy as a result. In fact, if you adopt her, it is possible for the first month or so you may think you did not get a cat; that you were tricked and you instead adopted a nocturnal mythical being. I mean, how many hiding spots can there possibly be in a house? Where did she go? But fear not! She really is a cat. And, you will discover, she is a very gentle cat. You will wake up at 2 am some random night and she will be curled up in the crook of your neck. And that will be it. She will now be out in the open, in daylight, and she’ll stare at you with her giant owl eyes, and you will know she trusts and loves you. She is a little rusty at being social. Her head butts might be a little strong, and she might be a little loud when she’s asking for dinner. But you guys can work on that together. If you are looking for a kitty who will warm up more quickly, consider adopting Whitney with Celine, her daughter. Celine will be in your face within the first few days of moving in, and will bring out the best in Whitney. Whitney would be fine with other pets who are gentle and non-confrontational. She is a pacifist, and will retreat rather than confront or even defend. She would do absolutely fantastic with Celine. She may also be fine with gentle children aged seven or older. She is three years old, and has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies/distemper, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Her adoption fee is $250.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Whitney, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
