My story

I found this sweet girl wandering a back road off Hwy 1187 in Rendon Tx. She was on the slower side and having a difficult time dodging cars in the road. I brought her to my home 04/21 and she has been with me since. After an extensive vet visit we found she was not chipped, had minor issues like fleas, and some major issues like muscle/weight loss and dental infection and is heartworm positive. I'm a young paramedic who cannot give Sandy the home she needs. On top of that her medical needs are becoming too much for a dog I just thought I was sheltering for a night to be reunited the next day to her family. She is a very sweet girl who will latch onto anyone who gets down with her on the floor and rubs her belly. Sandy has been highly food motivated since I have met her and she has a stomach made of iron, sweet girl took so many medicines and no messes. But she needs a home, not a kennel. Rabies vaccinated, flea/dewormer, and she is starting treatment for heartworm. Needs dental work.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sandy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
