My story

Cocoa is a beautiful black torbie female with a quiet, watchful presence. At 8.4 pounds, she is a healthy adult cat who has lived her life independently and remains feral—she is not comfortable with handling and is not a candidate for a traditional indoor pet home. Cocoa is seeking a working barn home where she can live safely while doing what she does best: keeping rodents in check. With proper acclimation, daily food, fresh water, and shelter from the elements, Cocoa will thrive as a valued member of a farm, stable, warehouse, or rural property. Like many feral cats, Cocoa prefers minimal human interaction, but she benefits greatly from the stability and protection a barn home provides. In return, she offers natural pest control and quiet companionship from a respectful distance. Cocoa is an excellent candidate for a Barn Cat Program placement—giving her the chance to live out her life safely while serving a purpose that suits her nature.
