My story

Black Bean is a tiny tortie with a huge personality and an even bigger sense of adventure. This confident little explorer was a solo kitten at first, but she’s blossomed beautifully and has become fast friends with another kitten named Tomahawk—showing she’s more than ready to thrive in a loving home, whether with a buddy or as your one-and-only star.True to her name, Black Bean is small but full of energy, curiosity, and charm. She’s incredibly food motivated (treats are the way to her heart!) and approaches life with fearless enthusiasm. New spaces, new toys, new people—she’s ready to check them all out with her tail held high.When the adventures wind down, Black Bean turns into the ultimate cuddle bug. She adores snuggling up close, especially curling into your neck, where she’ll happily purr herself (and you) to sleep. She’s the perfect mix of playful and affectionate—independent enough to explore, but loving enough to always come back for cozy time.If you’re looking for a kitten who’s equal parts brave explorer and devoted snuggler, Black Bean might just be your perfect match.Currently in foster care in Los Angeles. Meet & greets / pickup will be coordinated upon approved application & homecheck video. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.Please send us an email at delgatorescue@gmail.com to be a part of our rescue community.
