My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.A volunteer writes: I often like to imagine what adult dogs at the shelter looked like as puppies, and the thought of Sage as one - with his gorgeous auburn coat, truly exceptional forehead wrinkles, and big pink splotch on his nose - makes my heart nearly explode. He's a beautiful pup, but I quickly realize he's much more than just his good looks.Like many extraordinary dogs at the shelter right now, Sage is making the most of a less-than-ideal situation. Although he's been living in a crate in an overflow room since he arrived in late March, he hasn't let it break his spirit: He's always ready to go on long walks (he's been militantly housebroken), to play in the yard, and enjoy the small respites from his small living quarters. He's a happy soul with a vibrant personality, eager to connect with us and rest his paws on our lap. He seems to be curious when passing other dogs, and in fact was found wandering loose in the Brownsville area of Brooklyn alongside another dog, Cedar, who has since been placed with rescue. They were reported to be friendly with the police who picked them up and escorted them to the shelter. Primary Color: Red Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 50 Age: 3yrs 0mths 1wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sage, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
