My story

Meet Chonk! Chonk is an approximately 5yo neutered male who is, well, a chonk. He`s a big framed guy with chonky cheeks who shows signs of having spent a fair amount of time on the streets, one of them being some calluses on his toe beans. Not to worry though! Some time in a cushy new home will help those rough edges smooth right out.Chonk is a shy guy, still trying to figure out this `inside cat` thing. He isn`t really sure what to do with toys just yet, but we are working on it. Because he was on his own for who knows how long, being picked up is not his favorite thing. He prefers to control where his paws are. Like most cats, they talk with their tails, so keep an eye on his and he will let you know when he is overwhelmed. He gets along with other cats (his foster sister Espurr puts him at ease) and loves chin scratches and head pets. Once he is relaxed and gets a full body pet, his butt goes up super fast and then the purring begins. And I`m not talking a tiny purr. This kid has a rumbly purr you can feel in your bones.Chonk would do best in a home with other laid back cats. Because he is shy and fast movements scare him we are looking for a dog free home without small kiddos. Older kids who are able to respect his space and meet him where he is at could be ok. Chonk is currently in foster (the shelter was a bit scary for him) so all meet and greets will take place in his foster home. If you would like to meet Chonk, please email his foster mom at milwaukeecuratored@gmail.com to set up a time!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt CHONK-IN FOSTER, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
