My story

Thor is a male Black Mouth Cur mix about 6 weeks old. Currently small, but assuming his breed is correct he will be a medium to large dog. He is not yet neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. We're working on getting him house trained, and he's almost fully crate trained. We haven't tried leash training yet, because we have a yard he gets to play in. We haven't tried training him with commands like sit or stay. Thor loves to play with my shoes, he hasn't chewed them but he just carries them around. Every time we go to a new room in the house he explores all of the nooks and crannies. He is very playful and affectionate. He has a relatively high energy level compared to his brother Loki. He hasn't learned what fetch is, but he loves tennis balls. When he's tired he loves a good cuddle. Just like his brother he is very food motivated. He's good with our dog and she is a very high energy heeler mix. He's curious about our cat, but she is not a fan of dogs, so he's had limited interactions with her. He hasn't met any children yet, so uncertain about his temperament with children. He's comfortable with both men and women, but I think he is more so with men. He's uncertain at first with new people, but warms up over time. We haven't taken him on any car rides yet, so I'm unsure how he would do. His foster home is a house with a large yard that he likes to explore. Thor's daily routine is wake up, go outside, breakfast at 8, play outside, play with toys inside, or nap, he goes into his crate when I go to work until my boyfriend gets home and then they go outside until I get home, then dinner at 7:30, then bed time around 10. After every nap we go outside for a potty break, we find it helps with house training. He has no specific dietary needs that we know of. At first he is anxious and vocal when we leave him, but calms down after a few minutes, one thing we do to help ease the anxiety is play a podcast to simulate people in the room with them. He has no known health issues. He has been in a foster home, before we got Thor and his brother Loki they were in a shelter with the rest of their litter. There are no past traumas that we know of. Based on his breed he would do well living in a house with a yard, but I think he would do well in any home environment. He would do well with anyone especially anyone willing to train him. He has a little white goatee on his face. Something that I find adorable is when he carries my slipper around even though it'snot my favorite. Thor is a protector, when my dog is playing a little rough with his brother, Loki, he will come over and get her to play with him instead.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Thor, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
