My story

Go Go Gadget is a very special puppy!  He started out in a house that had issues with drug abuse.  At some point he sustained head trauma that we don't know if it was accidental or intentional.  A good samaritan was able to give him safe haven from that place and for a month she looked for help, even had a Vet tell her without an exam to euthanize him.  During that month he was kept in a pen for safety.  When she called us New Years eve we told her to bring him in for us to meet.  Well his foster said YES right away with the statement to the surrenderer "I see no reason to euthanzie him today but I can't promise I may have to make that choice if he starts having seizures or other medical concerns.  Our foster mom whispered in his ear that night "I will keep trying as long as you keep trying".   On intake Gadget could not walk without falling, was underwieght and could only see a few inches in front of him.  We worked on gaining muscle mass, increased his calories and kept him safe.  We were also told "he doesn't drink water" and that lead to blood work to check his kidneys and liver for any damage, we were happy there was not!   Fast forward a month and he is a personality filled puppy!  He lets his foster mom know which music he doesn't like on car rides until she changes the station.  He motivates all over the house prancing and bumping into things but if he falls over now he is quick to roll with it and bounce up and keep going!  He is a happy guy who loves cuddles too!  We believe he has regained some vision as he follows his foster mom and gets excited when she walks towards him. Gadget will need to be fed separately from other pets as he is afraid they will confiscate his food!  He also eats canned food twice a day and drinks water from a tall water dish.  When he eats he is overly dramatic thinking the blanket, the bowl, basically everything is trying to get his food. At this point Gadget has improved as much as he can.  He needs one level living with no stairs accessable and a pen or crate to eat in.  He currently sleeps and eats in a pen in his foster home when he is hopping around like a billy goat playing.   ##2631922##
