My story

Meet Apollo! This friendly, playful boy came to the shelter through no fault of his own and is ready for his forever home. He loves toys, does well on leash, and already knows some basic training. Apollo has done great with children, is friendly with strangers and other animals, and can be crated when needed. This gentle, sweet boy loves to sniff and explore.Apollo recently joined a pack walk and showed off what a fun and adventurous companion he is! He had a great time exploring the outdoors and walking alongside other dogs. Apollo is a strong, enthusiastic walker who enjoys being out and about, making him a great match for someone who loves staying active. Once he reached the park, his playful side really came out—he loved rolling around in the grass and taking in all the sights. He showed excellent manners around other dogs, remaining calm and relaxed throughout the walk. While he was interested in his fellow pups, he stayed easily engaged with his handler and handled the group setting beautifully. If you’re looking for a fun, social, and loving companion, Apollo might be your perfect match!Apollo has met other dogs at the shelter, he can be a little tense and will need to meet any potential doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match. He is eligible to come back to BARCS for social sessions. Apollo is currently in the comfort of a foster home. If you`re interested in meeting him, please complete an application and email dogfosters@barcs.org for next steps!I`m a VIP because I`m still learning, and the shelter can be a tough place for dogs like me to shine. But I’ve got a whole team cheering me on!Here are a few things the staff and volunteers are helping me with:• Learning to channel my extra energy in fun, healthy ways• Learning to make the right dog friends at the right pace• Getting more comfortable with rest time in my kennelIf you`re patient and open-hearted, I could be your best friend. I`m available for adoption! During the adoption process, a staff member can walk you through what’s been working for me and how you can keep the progress going at home.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Apollo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
