Mira

My story

Mira is a very special girl with a big personality—and only three legs! After recently having a leg amputated, Mira has bounced back and learned how to move around well. She trots around the house with confidence and curiosity. Nothing slows this girl down! Mira is very affectionate and loves being around her people. She’s the kind of cat who enjoys your company and will happily follow you from room to room just to be nearby. She doesn’t demand constant attention, but she truly enjoys being part of whatever you’re doing. If you move to another room, chances are Mira will move right along with you. She’s also quite the social butterfly and loves everyone she meets—family, visitors, and especially kids. In her foster home, Mira has formed a sweet bond with her foster family’s daughter and often follows her around the house like a little shadow. Her foster describes her as “more like a dog” because of how she likes to be near her people. Mira enjoys gentle playtime, especially with wand toys, and she plays nicely without using teeth or claws. When she’s in the mood for pets, she purrs happily, and when she’s had enough she simply walks away—such polite manners! She also doesn’t mind being picked up, though she’ll give a little wiggle when she’s ready to be put down. At night, Mira is the perfect companion: she’ll snuggle for a bit and then settle in to sleep at the end of the bed. She uses her scratching posts and settles well into a routine. Mira is around two dogs but will hiss if they get too close and the dogs have respected those boundaries. She would prefer a home without dogs, but she could likely do fine with a respectful one that will give her space. Mira is looking to be the only cat in home. Her foster describes her simply: “She is a love to be around.” She’s sweet, confident, and enjoys being part of the household without being overly demanding.
