My story

Moon is a sweet cat who’s had a really rough year. Before I got her, she was the only pet in her household. Moon’s owner (my college roommate) spent about 4 months in the hospital and hospice before passing away in May 2025. Moon was so upset at being separated from her owner that she licked off most of the fur on her legs and belly.I didn’t want Moon to go to a pound, so I took her in. But I already have a cat, and my cat and Moon both need to be the only pet in the house. Neither of them is comfortable around other cats or dogs. Because of this, Moon has spent the past 10 months behind closed doors, mostly alone, with access to only a few rooms in my house. I spend as much time with her as I can, and I wish I could keep her, but every time Moon and my other cat see each other they both freak out.Moon will feel safe and happy as the only pet in a home with experienced cat owners who can give her the love and attention she deserves.
