My story

"🐾 Meet Henry Henry is a 1‑year‑old pit mix from Houston with a heart as big as his blocky smile. He’s the kind of dog who makes instant friends—incredibly dog‑friendly, playful, and always ready for a good wrestle with any pup who’s up for it. šŸ’› A Tough Start When Henry first entered the shelter, he was severely emaciated, battling mange, and so malnourished that his body was weak and his conformation was poor. Despite everything, he greeted people with gentle eyes and a quiet hopefulness that made it impossible not to root for him. 🌱 Growing Strong in Foster Since entering foster care, Henry has been steadily rebuilding his strength—and his spirit has absolutely blossomed. His coat is healthy, his energy is up, and he’s discovering how fun it is to be a young dog with a safe place to land. He’s gained nearly 15 lbs since his arrival to MHCR! Henry visited an orthopedic specialist, who confirmed he’s orthopedically sound. His gait is just a little ā€œwonkyā€ from his early malnutrition, and as he continues to gain muscle, his legs are expected to continue to improve. šŸŽ‰ Who Henry Is Today Playful, social, and joyful with other dogs Resilient and affectionate, with a soft, eager-to-please temperament Growing stronger every day, both physically and emotionally Ready for a family who will celebrate his progress and give him the love he’s always deserved." Henry is being fostered in Aurora, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/henry/. You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Henry, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
