My story

I’m looking to rehome my daughter’s dog, Sparky. He is 6 years old, a Yorkie mix, and weighs about 21 pounds. Sparky is generally very quiet and only barks when he needs to go outside or when someone is at the door. He has always been my daughter’s dog and is very bonded to her. Because of this, I feel he would do best with someone who wants a close companion and can take him along as part of their daily life. Sparky can stay home alone for a few hours without any issues. However, he does not adjust well to being left alone in unfamiliar environments and seems to experience anxiety when separated from his owner in new places. He can also be protective of his food and anything he finds on the floor. He may growl or snap if someone tries to take it away from him, so he would do best with an experienced owner who understands resource guarding and can work with him patiently. We want t

If you have any questions or would like to adopt sparky, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
